She cannot know that without checking his
electrolytes. Has any blood work been done after
surgery? It could well be that he doesn't have enough
adrenal tissue left to keep his electrolytes in
balance. That would not explain the ongoing problem
with urination, but surgically induced Addison's
Disease would explain the lethargy and lack of
appetite.

If she hasn't checked his electrolytes insist on that
and DO IT IMMEDIATELY. If he goes into a full blown
Addisonian Crisis his life is in danger.

That is good news. That isn't cancer or malignant.
However, it doesn't change anything in terms of
getting him healthy now.
