I have two male ferrets with inoperable adrenal tumors. They have been on m=
elatonin implants, monthly lupron and 5 mg Proscar (propecia) daily (each),=
since December 2003, and while we have not measured their hormone levels, =
they have both done very well to date. I worried about toxicity from such a=
large human dose in such a small animal (avg. wt 2.5 lbs), but my vet veri=
fied it, and so far, they have been active and happy, eating, pooping and u=
rinating fine. The only downside to date is the expense - 30 pills cost $8=
0 .... and they both need them.
