My 6 y.o. male ferret suddenly became sick over the weekend. His symtpoms are: lethargic, wants to fall asleep wherever he happens to be, eyes that look very "tired", hind limb weakness (like his legs aren't stong enough to lift his belly all the way off the floor) and he feels warm though I don't know if he has a fever. I suspect he does.

He had surgery for insulinoma in March but this seems different than his insulinoma symptoms. He seems to just feel bad not just tired. He is eating his turkey baby food very well, but not eating his Cheerios or drinking water unless we give it to him from his bottle. Then he drinks the water very well. He does get up on his own and then seems to get very tired and just wants to roll up and sleep.

He is defecating and urinating normally. I was concerned about whether or not he was urinating but I think this was from not drinking enough. I have since verified that he is urinating, and doesn't seem to be straining when doing so.

This started Sat and he does seem somewhat better. I have a vet appt tonight. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm wondering if he could just have a virus or something, though he doens't have any sneezing or coughing that we've seen.

Thanks in advance.
