1. How long does a 1/8 tablet dose last? How often can/should I be giving the carafate?
2. Is it OK to mix a crushed tablet chunk with a small amount of ferretvite, or ferretone? Would ferretvite or ferretone be better (if either is OK)?
My girl has a thrashing fit whenever I try to give her ANYTHING by syringe, but will eat the carafate with no problem if I mix it with *just enough* ferretvite to stick all the powder together, and would probably lap up ferretone mixed with the powder as well.
3. How long does a ferret need to be taking carafate before they stop grinding their teeth when eating?
I do wait to feed her for 10-15 minutes after giving her the medication, but she still grinds her teeth a little.
