I haven't heard of such a connection before, but I do know that
ivermectin has been used successfully with ferrets for years, without
side effects. I used it with several of mine before switching to
Revolution (selamectin).

Were you giving him a death sentence? Definitely not. Ivermectin is
usually safe. Did he have a rare reaction to the treatment?
Possibly. You can't blame yourself for it if that's the case.

Two questions: Did you use injected ivermectin or topical in the ear?
Also, did you have post-mortem pathology done to confirm the
meningitis?
