I have a 6 yr old male mf ferret who is currently on monthly depot of lupro=
n for 7 months vet says it's .2cc 100 microgram concentration??? Well my f=
erret is starting to scratch & chew himself till he gets sore spots. Also t=
he hair looks thin only on the left side where the adrenal is bad. Also has=
scab on right foot and less hair on the foot. Seems more lethargic (sleeps=
alot). She's done a fungal culture came back negative. She had me try a sp=
ray for his skin (oatmeal, omega6 fatty acids) but this gives him the poops=
since he's chewing and licking himself all the time. It's been suggested t=
hat we mught try increasing the concentration of the lupron. Does this soun=
d like it would be the next step? I wanted some opinions since he's only be=
en on lupron for 7 months do ferrets become immune to certain dosages? My v=
et doesn't feel he's a good surgical canditate he's had major surgery for r=
ight adrenal removal in 4-03 and spleen, hairball removal in 11-03 fot irreg=
ular heartbeat last surgery so I'm kinda leary also.
Thanks in advance for info
