My ferret had a case of very dark ear wax that showed no mites or infection and was put on drops (can't remember the name of meds). His ears have cleared up except for the normal light brown wax that is seen in ferrets. His ears produced an unbelievable amount of that stuff. My vet had no answer for me as to what caused it, but it's gone now.
