I've just rescued a female 3 or 4 year old. They fed her very poor cat food all her life. She is very skinny. I didn't get a chance to get any of the old food she was being fed, so I just started her on chicken baby food and zupreen. She has eaten a little of zupreen and hates the baby food, but i have gotten about 5cc down her 3 times a day. Today she is very lethargic and her poop is pretty slimy. I was worried about her getting dehydrated so I made some duck soup with the kibble, baby food, strawberry soy meal replacer, science diet AD, ferratone, Pedialyte, and a small amount of unsweetened cranberry juice. I gave her 7cc and about 15 minutes later she started pawing at the roof of her mouth like she had something stuck. I gave her 1/2 cc of pepto bismol just in case it upset her stomach. She is still pawing at her mouth.
I'm not sure what else to do to help her. I plan on taking her to the vet tomorrow.
