Quick note this time:

Although we have had ferrets in our family for 23 years only something like 30% or 35% or so of our ferrets over the years have had any adrenal growths. The only (rare) times we have have had any with growths before age 5 years have been after we didn't or couldn't provide enough darkness for whatever reasons.

On the other side, I've heard from people who had very high rates, including a night worker who had virtually 100% of her ferrets (and even another species) with adrenal growths, and most were early ones.

That may not mean squat in the overall picture or it might be demostrating what the hypothesis says to expect if the melatonin hypothesis proves out over time.

Like Mike I put real weight into this possibility.
