Hi Jen,
I am NOT a VET but we have seen this NUMEROUS TIMES!
Reddened and swollen nipples are a hormonal signal indicating high estrus
or adrenal condition.
If your ferret has had this for some time I strongly recommend that you get
to the vet for a blood test to make sure she has not started to develop
anemia and then get her into surgery or onto treatment with lupron,
melatonin or surgical excision.
