Hi, my ferret, Phang, has a bite wound on his neck (it started as a small puncture). He went to the vet about two weeks ago, and was prescribed Clavamox, .25mL twice a day. Since then the area around the bite and swollen into about the size of half a grape, and the small puncture hole is now about the diameter of a small pea and growing. The vet recommends that I continue the Clavamox for another 10 days, but as it seems to not be having any effect, is there anything else that I can do for Phang? He does not seem uncomfortable, is eating, playing, and going in the litter box as normal. (I have also been putting a topical ointment, Bactoderm, on the bite). Could this not be an infected bite? It was not swollen and round when the vet saw it, could it be anything other than an infection? Thanks
Hannah and Phang
