I have a neutered male MF ferret that is coming up on his eighth birthday. A few weeks ago I took him to the vet with a prolapsed rectum, the vet put in a pursestring suture and sent us home with panacur and amoxi-drops to treat a giardia infection. For a short time he seemed to be better, but now he is having a lot of diarrea again. I have tried another run of the panacur treatment but it does not seem to be helping. I have 3 other ferrets and 2 cats, none of them are showing any signs of illness. My animals are all kept inside, so I have no idea how this guy could have picked up the giardia. Could this be something else? Any suggestions to help this little guy would be greatly appreciated.
