Mike,

When I first started getting surgeries for mine, I fasted them four
hours, but then I had my vets tell me my ferrets vomitted during the
procedure. Since then I fast from midnight (roughly), which usually
ends up being 9-14 hours. Unless you're dealing with insulinomics,
it's perfectly fine for them, and *guarantees* you're going to get
empty stomachs.
