Fria seems to really be perking up today. She's eating more, especially
when I hand feed her, which I do each time I hold her. She's more
interested in moving around, so we allowed her to walk around the living
room last night(supervised VERY closely) for a short time. We only left
her do this for about 5 minutes, and absolutely NO climbing has been
allowed, though she keeps trying to. Would she be able to safely walk
around supervised for longer, or are the short sessions better until later
in her recovery?

One thing I noticed while she was out and about was that she was swaying
back and forth a bit when standing, and she even lost her balance a time or
two when walking. Her back end just kind of fell over. Could this just be
due to overall weakness from surgery?

Also, I'm keeping a very close eye on the changes to her incision and the
surrounding area, as well as taking daily pictures to give me an accurate
look at things. However, I'm not really sure what is and isn't normal
progress. We were instructed on this by the vet and given a Care Sheet to
properly care for the incision as well as signs to watch for that may
indicate problems. But it's fairly general, with things like if it's
oozing fluids, swelling, etc. But what about changes in the size of the
reddened, bruised like area? When we brought her home yesterday, she had a
fair amount of this reddened area, but today, although it's the same color,
the area it covers is a bit bigger. Is this normal, or should I be worried?

I also wanted to mention that her stools are slightly abnormal. They are
dark green in color, and are somewhat runny at times. Is this fairly
normal after surgery? And could her antibiotics play a part in it?

Thanks for everyone's help,
Jen
