The carafate (sucralfate)will help with the ulcer by coating it and helping with the
discomfort of eating and will protect the ulcer to help it heal faster, if your vet does
not have it most drug stores carry it( it is used for humans aka "sucralfate")
Clavamox could be enough for Boo Boo, but I believe it could take a while to heal, a
lengthy round of it might be necessary.
I have read of other protocols that are supposed to work faster: ie,
Biaxin(clarythromycin) and amoxi(clavamox) combined. But the carafate should give
relief.
Any kind of all meat baby food should be okay, my ferret likes Gerber 2nd stage
turkey and chicken flavor. Beechnut also has a line of all meat baby food, but I
think they have more sodium in them..I tried them with my ferret once and he liked
them..But I had to switch back to the Gerber because my ferret cannot have alot of
salt. I beleive Gerber 2nd stage foods are "pureed", my ferret likes them because
they are smooth and go down easy, they are "bland", so as not to hurt the ulcer too
much.
