It was mentioned that there are turtles present. What kind? Are they treated by a knowledgable vet? I know that the marine mammals we work with can carry diseases that can make humans very ill. Is it possible that the turtles may also have something they are transmitting?

As others have said, speculation is pointless without some proof. Hope all turns out okay. BTW, did they learn what it was in 2000?

Animals that are not in contact with a sick one can get it. Mortality is 100% so for in the animals. Helpers are going to move all of the healthy ones to a new home to see if it can stop the spread but will this help.

They know it is not distemper, feline aids or ferret ADV no one has a clue of what they are dealing with. Does any one here have any ideas? The only thing so far that it does not affect is the birds in the rescue.
