Subject: Apocrine Adenocarcinoma
Message-ID: <4319281.1104682485913.JavaMail.root@thallium.smartgroups.com>

I just joined this group and I was wondering if anyone has seen Apocrine gl=
and adenocarcinoma in ferrets. My little 5.5 yr old boy, Rascal, had mites=
a couple of years ago. One nail never really grew back normally after tre=
atment of the foot mites. One day the nail ripped off. Then it just didn'=
t heal after months of trying different treatments. Finally, we took the t=
oe off and found Apocrine Adenocarcinoma which had extended into the bone. =
So, we went back in a couple weeks later and took two toes and half his fo=
ot off. That was two months ago. Last week I noticed a new open sore that=
looked much like the original toe sore. Upon closer inspection, I found f=
our swollen lymph nodes in his armpit. Went into surgery the next day, rem=
oved the skin lesion and the lymphatic system under the arm. I should get =
the prelim pathology report on Monday. If it is lymphosarcoma, I know that=
ferrets respond well to Pred. But if it is metastasis of the original ade=
nocarcinoma, what is the best chemo protocol for that?
Thanks for any advice
