Subject: Cecil - Blood in Urine

My little boy, Cecil, only 11 mos. old, is having recurring blood in his urine. We have tried Clavamox, Baytril and Orbax. It seemed the last few days, he has had only "old" blood which comes out as brownish urine -- a good sign.

But this morning, when he went, it was very red again.

Vet wants to do exploratory surgery - said the X-ray may not have shown a different kind of bladder stone and/or the bladder lining may be too thick and need to be scraped.

I cannot find any literature on this except the possibility of bladder stones/kidney infection. Any other ideas, so I may avoid putting my little guy under the knife??

Thanks for the input - Allison Johnson
