Right now I am trying to treat heliobactor in a ferret that has an enlarged
spleen. Everywhere I look I read more and more about all the conditions it
has been implicated in so this one is being treated with biaxin and amoxi
(clavamox is another good choice), I also put him on prednisolone and he
responded quite will. I believed this is a better oute to go before trying
surgery. This particular ferret had gall blladder surgery about 1 year about
he was obstructed so I would rather avoid another major surgery for him I
have had others that have had success with clavamox long term by itself but
usually need to repeat treatments from time to time. This is the first one I
am treating this way so we will see how it goes. Just a thought. Good Luck.
