Those things are so dead-on for thromboses (thrown clots).

You need to keep massaging that leg and working it through range of motion to help the clot break up well enough. LET YOUR VET KNOW AND GET VET'S OKAY. This is what they have had us do in this situation with excellent results but your ferret may have some special need or precaution which idffers. If there is some lasting loss of mobility then if vet okays it try working through the skills for walking in a warm bath to provide some bouyancy and soothing heat to help restore as much function as possible.

With both clots thrown to legs we had good results in the past, with ones to the brain we have had variable results (one almost perfect recovery despite days of coma at first, but another who was just too gone, and there is a chance that we had a third individual with one to the brain also too gone), and with the one thrown to a kidney the result was bad in our ferret family.

Your vet may want to see if your ferret tolerates mild anticoagulants. Some do and those do well on therapy with low levels of aspirin or other meds, but some don't tolerate any anticoagulants.

With our Meltdown who could not tolerate anticoagulants we gave viitamin E with the hope that at least it would reduce the impact of vitamin K. There is no way to know if it helped or not.

Throwing clots is something which can happen with cardiomyopathy as you are discovering. See if the cardiomyopathy meds may need adjusting in types or doses to be more effective at this stage of the illness.

Both episiodes fit very well for thrown clots.

With insulinoma present also tst for A/V Node Block affecting the heart. It is rare but can happen secondary to insulinoma so if present you'd want to treat for it.

Hope this helps.

Your descriptions really sound dead-on for thrown clots from what we have experienced in our family.
