So sorry to hear about your Buster. I had a little albino girl named
Winter who also had this happen over a two day period. Her skin was
also yellow. Took her to my vet (very knowledgeable about ferrets) and
he agreed it was time to help her over the Rainbow Bridge. Winter had
previously had surgery for adrenal disease. When Doc did the necropsy,
he discovered cancer... she apparently was an incomplete spay and had
ovarian cancer which had spread to her kidneys. Do wish you'd had a
necropsy on yours so we could all know what to look for in future in
some of our fur-kids.
