My Tibbie had his spleen removed, adrenal gland and two panreatic tumors when he was 5. He jumped around in the cage so much (and he had pain meds)the vet told us to take him home. His spleen weighed 1/2lb! When he got home he finally fell asleep and slept till the next day. When he got up the next morning he wanted out so we put him on the floor and he couldn't walk because he was so skinny after loosing all that weight.
He didn't have any complications. We tried to keep him quiet for a week, but didn't really succeed. He had him stitches out at the end of the week, although he was healed in just a few days.
Took him a while to learn to walk good again, he was so off balance.

After they removed it and did the biopsy, it was confirmed that it was NOT lymphoma, but it was extramedullary hematopoeisis (excessive accumulation of developing red and white blood cells). I guess this can happen due to chronic infections and/or GI problems in ferrets.
