A tip on how to deal with ear mitts in bedding if you want to save the
smell. But the item into a zip lock bag (two or three times if you worried
about the little monster getting out) and place into frezzer for 72 hours.
This is what I did with Jaws' blanket I made him just before he passed.

[Moderator's Question: did you find confirmation anywhere that freezing kills ear
mites during any of their stages and could you say why the figure of 72 hours was
used? I have been searching for 45 minutes and could not find any. In all studies I
found the mites were killed with standard meds and if freezing was used it was to
kill some pathogens in the mites for study. if you found a site could you, please,
post it so that it will be handy in the Archives so I won't search for ages next time?
Thanks much! BTW, in what I DID find some mite type adults do freeze and some
don't.]
