I have an albino almost 5 year old male. He has lost a lot of fur on his
tail the last year or so...and the skin on his tail is darker in color than
the rest of his body skin. I can't see any blackheads *shrugs*. He doesn't
have adrenal according to our vet...can I assume it's just normal hair loss?
He does have insulomia and takes prednisone daily.

With fur loss on the tail only along with blackheads most of the ones here
have not had adrenal neoplasia and just had acne and usually dry skin for
causes other than adrenal. A few (the minority here) have had adrenal
neoplasia as the root cause.

So, it can be adrenal, but in our own personal experience it usually isn't.
As a result we watch more closely for other possible signs of adrenal growth
when it happens.
