Hi Kelli- That is certrainly a tough one. On rare occassions you can jump strat these ferrets with Winstrol injections ( I am not sure if it is back on the market yet) and transfusions and pred daily.... I have seen some wonderful results with a friends older ferret- and we were able to give a ferret 6 mos with Winstrol but the choice is really yours alone to make. A thorough discussion with your vet, assessing your financial ability and your heart is in order to make the "right" decision for your pet.

Sending support & best wishes,

Alicai

I have written about Loci in the past. I found that he is severely anemic. His RBC is as low as 8. His reticulacite (sp?) is zero, which means he has non-regenerative anemia. We had his bone marrow tested and found it is no longer working. We did a blood transfusion to see if that would jump start his marrow into making the RBCs. But to no avail.
