Hi, here in the UK the general feeling is it is better to keep a pair of
jills but a hob would be happy by himself.
When I kept 5 jill and 3 hobs (all whole) together they separated into
two groups with the males using a separate sleeping box at night. Even
during the day I would find all the males sleeping together in one of
their hidey holes. I think all ferrets like some company and if you
cannot be with them most of the time a friend would be advisable. A cat
or dog running about the house would break the long day up even if they
were separated by a wire gate/door. My little collie would spends hours
chasing my 6 about if I could stand the noise. Chris.
