I have 2 six-month old hobs, who are currently indoor ferrets. My albino hob, Cheech, and I appear to have gone down with fox-mange (sarcops mite).

My best guess is that one of the cats carried it in and I gave it to the ferret. I'm bemused as to why only one ferret and I are infected in a multi-animal household. I'm slightly prone to skin allergies. Are albino ferrets likewise sensitive?

We've treated with Stronghold (selectamin) and topical ointment + oral baytril to prevent any secondary infection. Bedding is changed every day as usual. Any other recommendations?

It may be helpful to others to know that the baytril mixed with a little soya cream is being lapped up eagerly.

many thanks
