Thanks so much for your advice. Yes, I had one ferret who lived to be
13 (rescued from a friend) and my little girl who made it to a year and
had a blockage. She survived surgery but not much more. I must admit
that now there is a wealth of knowledge out there that I did not have
before. I am a neatnick but the tradeoff is worth it! I am working at
home which is why I feel that I have the time. Even when I didn't have
time, I made it for my dogs. I believe that the more interaction the
better. You truly learn to communicate with them. I have a too big
home so there is tons of space although my pets tend to spend the
morning in my office with me and the afternoon wandering around the
house with me while I do chores. Just like company I guess - always in
the kitchen! I am looking at two cages and would love your thoughts - a
Marchioro Tommy 102 TI 40L x 28 x 30 with one ramp, two front doors or a
Midwest 140 36L x 24w x 48h. Both are on casters which I want for easy
movability. I read that some of the ramps are not necessarily good for
them. If you have any cage suggestions, I welcome them. As for a vet,
there are many in this area, but it does seem as if two ferrets could
potentially double in costs given all of the diseases that are out
there. There is a lot more today to be concerned about. So you have
given me some valuable food for thought. Thanks much.
