Excellent catch!!! We'll have to wait and see if we can get confirmation o=
n which one it is, but this seems highly likely.
The site above says the distemper part of the Canivac vaccine was "prolifer=
ated on the culture of hen fibroblasts," which should mean it would be safe=
(avian source). =
Then the other part of this vaccine is for "contagious inflammation of dogs=
=E2=80=99 liver and foxes=E2=80=99 brain and spinal cord" and is cultured o=
n dogs' kidneys. Assuming this is canine infectious hepatitis (Rubarth's D=
isease), I've never heard of this infecting ferrets. But I'm just googling=
and have absolutely no specific knowledge about this. =
Still don't know what cell culture line the Canvac vaccine is grown from.
