To bring you up to speed.

I lost a ferret to a pancreatic tumour in December and soon after his cage mate started show the same symtoms, greater girth, tight tummy, straining to poo and loss of appetite (for normal kibble)
We took her to the vet and got her X rayed and was also diagnosed with a tumour.

Now my problem.

Pet ferrets aren't as popular a pet over here yet and vetinary knowledge isn't as advanced, Oscar (bridge resident) went under for surgery and didn't make it.. now the vet won't operate on Echo (cage mate) as she doesn't want the same thing to happen to her. A few people at "Ferret Chat Server's Forum" suggested two drugs that may help they were Essiac and Prednisone.

I was wondering if anyone knew the best plan of attack and if the drugs are a possible what kind of dose would be reccomended?

Please please help as I don't want her (and us) to suffer when there could be a "simple" remedy or helping hand.

Thanks
