For all of you who wrote such wonderful advice about Loci and "when to let go" we both thank you.

One of the best words of advice was, "...if he isn't dancing, then that is reason enough..." Loci hadn't danced in over a month. He had no energy.

I made the decision to help Loci cross over and now I know that he is "...dancing in a basket of stars."

For all of you faced with this grueling decision, just make sure to love your fuzzy every single day that you have together and know that it is a ferrets life to dance and dook and play and if they are no longer able to do these things they really aren't living anyway!

Also, if your ferret starts to look pale, (Loci's nose, gums, ears, and pads of his feet were such a light pink color, almost white), then you know there is some form of anemia present. He also had no energy what-so-ever. Make sure you get your ferret checked out.

And go to a vet who is experienced with ferrets. I drove an hour and half to have him treated because my local vet is clueless. They may say they know ferrets, but just make sure you do your homework and find a good vet.
