We have a psycho-ferret trick which has worked wonderfully for us on this score. It's actually the best thing we have ever found in over 20 years for weaniing ferrets off their soup.

All you do is play to the inclination ferrets have to figure that they are winning if they manage to sneak something. Take paper bags (You can ever try different sizes) and put some dry kibble in the bag each day. At first it may be ignored. Be patient. When there are signs of it being raided PRETEND TO NOT KNOW. THAT IS IMPORTANT. The ferret has to figure that you are being tricked to add pizzaz to the eating. Wait until the ferret is eating a considerable about of kibble before you "discover" what is going on. That will take anywhere from days to even a few weeks (though it almost always here takes 3 to 5 days after the ferret begins using the bag). (As this is going on also slowly reduce the amount of soup given or increasingly dilute the amount.) Shortly after enough is being eatten for you to to discover it you can stop the soup of give only a little portion as a treat or supplement only.
