Subject: What is the risk of contracting ECE at clinic w/ recent case

My vet called to tell me that a client recently lost one of their ferrets to ECE, possibly a new strain, after visiting a friend who had gotten a new ferret. I don't know any of the details or even how much experience my vet has with ECE.

My ferret is scheduled for her CDV booster tomorrow and I'm beginning to think that I need to cancel the appointment. I don't think she was exposed to ECE as a kit but she does have a sensitive GI tract. The booster is already "past due" because I add a few months to prevent the next one from being given so close to the last one.

Should I cancel the appointment or am I overreacting?

Thanks.
