Thanks, for all the replies. =

The good news is that my vet DID remove the right adrenal gland too since i=
t
was enlarged. However, according to the results of the pathology that they=

got back on the right adrenal gland, it was normal. It didn't show any
signs of disease, which my vet did find unusual becuase it was enlarged. H=
e
said that since it showed that it was normal it was possible it was enlarge=
d
because it had to make up for what the left gland wasn't able to do due to
the carcinoma. Or maybe the pathologist got it wrong. Hopefully they didn'=
t
and the gland really was normal. =

Oh, well, doesn't matter; like I said, he did remove the right adrenal glan=
d
too. I'm actually going to work on tapering Kiki off the prednisone this
week to see how he does without the medication since he had both glands
removed. =

Again, thank you for explaining that left adrenal tumors rarely spread. =

That's good news. Hopefully that will be the case in Kiki too.

Hi Robin,
Good news and bad news. As others have pointed out,
adrenal carcinomas (esp on the left side) rarely spread.
Carcinomas of the right gland can spread to the lobe of
the liver (caudate lobe) that is right below it.
Now for the bad news. The right gland was enlarged because
it has adrenal gland disease too. If your vet did not remove the
right gland also then you are likely to still have the adrenal problem.
