Don't worry! My vet is the one that wants me to taper off the prednisone. =
=

I'll be doing it safely. I'll still have doses left to give him IF he
starts acting funny. If that happens I'll give him his medicine and
immediatly give my vet a call. According to my vet ferrets do have adrenal=

tissue in the body that should start to take over for the missing adrenal
glands. As long as that takes over, I shouldn't have to keep giving him
medicine. If for some reason it doesn't, then, yeah, he'll have to keep
getting medicine. But I will have extra prednisone on hand should he need
it, and I will keep a very close eye on him.

DO NOT DO THIS unless your vet left some adrenal
tissue in. PLEASE look in the archives for references
to Addison's Disease and Addisonian Crisis. Ferrets
that have had both glands removed need
supplementation, generally
prednisone/pediapred/prednisolone and
florinef/fludrocortisone. Another possibility is
percoten.

Make sure you consult with your vet and make sure what
you are doing is safe for Kiki.
