It's all the same stuff - selamectin. The dog tubes are simply packed
at a higher concentration than the cat tubes, though. (I believe the
dog formulation is 4x more concentrated than the cat...I don't have it
in front of me though.) Different species internalize drugs in
different ways, which is why you see the same Revolution having
different effects on cats vs. dogs. (And why ProHeart, which has
turned out to be so bad for dogs, seems to work wonders for ferrets.)

I can attest that cat Revolution *is* effective against sarcoptic
mange, as I used it to treat mange in one of my ferrets. It was
effective where ivermectin was not. It may very well be that it is
not effective for that use in cats, but it is in ferrets.

Since Revolution seems to be priced by the tube rather than by the
amount of selamectin in the tube, it seems to be more cost-effective
to buy the large dog tubes and split them up the way Russell
recommended - at least if you have a bunch of ferrets to treat at
once. I actually put the needle through the side of the tube though,
rather than the neck. It's easier to pierce that way and seems to
cause less loss.
