Subject: Cryptococcosis--how contagious?

I took one of my ferrets in to my vet yesterday for what I thought was a dental abscess. On examination it was found that his teeth were not involved but it was actually a lymph node. The culture came back as cryptococcosis. The infected ferret has had minimal contact with my other ferrets but they have shared community litterboxes around the house. I am concerned that the others may be infected. What I have found on the net regarding testing mostly pertains to humans and either consists of culturing a lesion, a spinal tap, or a lung biopsy. Is there a less invasive way of testing prior to lesions appearing?
