Actually, it isn't lymphocytic adrenalitis. In proliferative lesion sof the adrenal cortex, immature, poroiferating adrenocortical cells, especially in the deep cortex, often have very little cytoplasm, and resemble lymphocytes. It is a hallmark of hyperplasia, and often misconstrued by pathologists not familiar with the lesion. There is no increased incidence of adrenal insufficiency.
