This situation reminds me of my ferret Fritz -- he was a healthy 3 lbs.
and then just began gaining weight last March. I originally thought it was a
confusion of seasons on his part. He also got to the point where he dragged
his belly through his pee, and waddled around looking very uncomfortable. He
ended up with diabetes but died in September of liver cancer.
Please keep us posted on Boo-Boo -- I can only think that the cancer was
what caused Fritz's weight gain and eventual death, but we didn't send
tissues out after the necropsy. I wish in hindsight we had.
