When we bought our little Peanut (aka "Claudia") we did so because she seemed sweet----but mostly because one of the other kits, a larger one, was chewing on her ear fiercely. Wasn't drawing blood or anything, but close to it. We also noted that Peanut's hair on her scruff looked like it had been cut with scissors... and the employees said that one of the other kits chews on her scruff. She was sleeping while the other fuzz was chewing on her ear, but it was very red when they pulled her out for us to take home.
No help, I guess, but I have seen this happen, though I can't say why.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has ever had or heard of a ferret chewing often on another ferrets ear to the point of irritation but not yet infection or disfigurement? Any idea what could cause this tendency or what I can tell the fuzzy mom to do about it?
Thanks,
Terra
