I wrote about a month ago about Cecil, my 11 month old ferret. He had blood in his urine and we tried about every broad spectrum drug in the book and nothing helped.

Long story short -- Cecil had exploratory surgery last week. It was found he had green crystals in his bladder.

The pathology all came out normal - so we are back to square one!

He is very healthy - eating and drinking and going the bathroom like normal.

The Dr. is going to try a sulfa (sp.?) on him b/c he said it could be this type of infection that [usually] causes absesses on ferrets, but could be causing this instead and then Cecil rids the "stuff" thru his urine.

Any experience with this anyone?? If so, any successful tx for it??

Any advice would help.

Thanks,
Allison
