I'd like to recommend some resources to help you and your teacher because ferrets are high maintenance, very intelligent and curious animals who care if actually on teh expensive side.

There is an excellent book with a terrible title _Ferrets for Dummies_ (part of the dummies series of books, some of which are great). Even those of us who have had ferrets in the family for decades tend to have it.

Here are two web sites that will help. I haven't read them in a while so suspect that each is a bit outdated, but they will still help:
http://www.ferretcentral.org
http://www.thechipster.com/fert-man.html

Here is a link to references in the Crit Ref's portion of the site:
http://www.ferretcongress.org

and to join the Ferret Mailing List (the oldest consistently operating and largest ferret list):
<ferret-request@cunyvm.cuny.edu>

How much room is the ferret getting, how much interaction, what sort of housing and size of housing, types of toys, etc? Does your teacher need links to find ferret veterinarians?
