High protein is usu inflammation of some time. High Globulin (is prob what
is responsible for the high total protein), Globulin is an immunoprotein so
his body is reacting to some immune system stimulus either infection, immune
mediated inflammation, and yes I think it would be possible for some forms
of adrenal to trigger this. I would use antibiotics for a couple of weeks
recheck and then go ahead as planned. If he needs to go in sooner it should
be okay because hopefully they can find the source in surgery. All the
best.
