Buprenorphine worked well for Hershey Kisses before she passed away.

It is absorbed through the oral mucous membranes, ideally by putting it on the
gums, which was tricky to do. Still, I did feel it helped her. She slept so much at the
end, it would be difficult to know if it made her sleep more, but I did see an
improvement in how she moved about during play times.
