I would suggest trying Metacam. My Pearl is on it for chronic pain. I hav=
e found it to be preferable to Torbugesic in not causing a sedative effect.=
Of course, Pearl is an old gal and sleeps a lot anyway, so I may not know=
what I'm talking about. LOL

The dosage is .06mL/lb., once a day. We started Pearl on that dose (she go=
t .09mL) and then lowered it to .04ml/day after about two weeks. She is st=
ill on the lower dose and no longer whimpers.

We also use Metacam for surgeries. I start it the night before surgery and=
then continue it for 4 additional days. It's a staple in my ferret medici=
ne chest.
