Merial is definitely the safer one but I've seen many anaphylactic rxns. to it where I work. Sounds like Big Al's in good hands though. Your vet may reccomend that Big Al doesn't get vaccinated next year or he/she might opt to pre med w/ benedryl and a steroid before vx. I'm assuming the vet is worried about pneumonia bec. he may have aspirated some vomit, clavamox would be fine.
