Hi, everyone,

Any time a ferret of mine was diagnosed with lymphoma
our vet started pediapred (prednisolone) immediately
at a moderate dosage. In some cases it clearly helped
in a big way and in others it did not. It certainly
can give symptomatic relief and in Nyssa we saw it
reduce some very swollen lymph nodes back to near
normal size. I wouldn't wait on starting on it.

All of our lymphoma cases were in ferrets who were
older (anywhere from almost six to just shy of 10) so
we never considered them to be good candidates for
chemotherapy. I also think you should talk to some
humans who have been through chemo. I would not
subject a ferret to that kind of treatment unless
there was really a good chance of remission. Quality
of life is the number one issue to me.

All the best,
Caity and the spectacular six
