I have a 6 and 1/2 year old male ferret. It is his right adrenal gland and=
the vet says it is attached to the ven cava, and he will not be able to re=
move it, but he said he could deulk it. He also has prostatic cysts which =
been drained twice in the last three weeks. I asked him to order the melato=
in patches, but he thinks that would be too expensive for one ferret. He c=
ompounded the tablet instead. When I asked him about the proceia he asked =
for more information on it. He thinks that he might have to order large am=
ounts. Can I get the patches myself? How does he order and compound the p=
roceia? He is the second vet I hve gone to in Houston, and I have also cal=
led a number of them. None of which uses the patches, although one does us=
e a melatioin injection every 3 weeks. He also said the adrenal gland has =
doubled in size in the last month. I think maybe I should drive to another =
city to find a vet that really works better with ferrets, although the two =
I have been to and are going to are supposed to be good for ferrets. Mayb=
e my ferret is too far gone. =
