Debulking the right will not cure the disease. The
prostate problems will likely continue as well. What
you need is a ferret vet that can actually ligate the
vena cave and get the whole right out of there.

My Podo had a very large right adrenal gland removed
at the age of seven and a half. He came through that
surgery just fine. He lived to be just about 10.

In your position I wouldn't give up without getting a
second opinion from a ferret vet who has successfully
done right adrenal surgeries and has a good track
record with them. If this was my ferret and I had to
drive to another city there is no question in my mind
that I would.

Nobody on list can tell if your ferret is "too far
gone" but it sure doesn't sound that way. I think a
second opinion will cost you some time and a little
money but it will at least buy you peace of mind that
you are making the right decision.
