I recently had baseline bloodwork for two of my ferrets. They are 4.5 year old littermates. Both had adrenal surgery last summer.
Both eat well and are at or over 4 pounds. My concern is the ALT for the two vary so greatly; all the rest of their values were fairly close.
The liver values for each:
ALKP 78 U/L 94 U/L
ALT 98 U/L 553 U/L
The archives tend to attribute a high ALT to ferrets going off their food. This cannot be the case as both eat well. Both are on the same diet.
I can post the rest of the values if needed, to evaluate what this means.
What would cause one's ALT to be 553?
Thank you,
Julie
